Alice Searcy Oil Painter
Starting this blog is going to have goals that are two fold. First, it will be a commitment to paint more on a regular basis,....which I will enjoy.... and second.... to take me out of my comfort zone by wrestling with this computer! Not my forte!

Public Housing
The Community Foundation of West Georgia sponsors a juried art show, where artists are asked to creativly define a concept of community. Since 2004, the Foundation has distributed over $2.3 million dollars to local non profits organizations in the areas of art/culture, economic development, medical/hospice, education and the environment. These are the two paintings I submitted.

Bird Nest with Eggs
In this still life class we concentrated on fruits the first 2 weeks, and bird's nests the second two weeks. Nests, in all shapes and forms, are the "thing" to paint right now! Very challenging to keep the brush strokes loose and make each one count! This is one of my favorite "results."
